Wood veneers come in an incredible number of species, colors, and grain types. Some species are naturally very lustrous and can be excellent for use in lustrous artwork.

In each case, the surface displays areas of greater and lesser brightness, and as the viewer walks past (or around) the piece, this surface light moves, changing shape as it changes location.

Excellent use can be made for furniture and wall panels, especially when placed where traffic flows past.

The technique uses squares of veneer at differing angles. The greater the number of squares, the greater the richness of the piece.
