The central panel is a two-piece bookmatch of Pelin burl
with a filletti
of unusually
lustrous ribbon-striped Mahogany. The outer border is of
Jarrah burl, a relative of Eucalyptus, and is used for its
intense tight burl of striking color.
The two-piece match shown would be suitable for a vertical
usage such as a wall panel, desk front, or door.
The range of burls is broad, and the colors and figure
often differ significantly from the "normal" figure
presentation of the species. The size of individual pieces
is limited, and shapes are random. Burl can be classed as
the most desirable of veneers.
